I have tutored individual and small groups after school in English, reading, test-taking strategies and test prep. I would like to be a tutor because I know the benefits of having a 1:1 or 1:3 learning experience versus being solely in the classroom. It greatly complements and sometimes, supplements a well-rounded and well-prepared education. In just a few short months of being there, my English students (sophomores) significantly raised their test scores on the state standardized test. I attribute this to daily test-taking practice and focused tutoring sessions with students.
