Experience
I am a recent Adelphi University graduate with a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. I earned my Bachelor of Science from Black Hills State University in Theater. My main focus for tutoring is in English. I enjoy working with academic conventions and other grammar related topics, because I believe punctuation and word choice assist in providing self-expression to written words; much like how musical notes are used to create songs. I also enjoy the flexibility of the English language, to choose how words and academic conventions are used, and believe that I can help my students to also obtain a mastery of the written language. I do this by recognizing individual strengths and building upon those skills. I am passionate about English and writing, and believe this allows me to genuinely help each student on an individual level to reach their goals in writing. Additionally, I currently teach English courses in Composition and Creative Writing at Adelphi University. The English subjects that I am interested in working with include: College Writing, Literature, Phonics, Reading, Grammar and Mechanics. I spend my free time exploring New York City, taking in the theater, singing, play-writing, and cooking.
